    1

    It’s Day 1 for your incredible adventure in Central America. Upon arriving in Belize City, your guide awaits outside the Airport ready to take you to your starting point hotel right in town. No activities are planned for today. Simply settle in and get ready for your expedition. If you arrive early, you may enjoy the pier and walk along the coast and even grab some lunch in town.

    2

    As our journey begins, we depart from Belize City to the north of the country to a Mayan site named Lamanai. To reach the site, we will first hop on a boat and navigate through channels surrounded by lush mangroves and enjoy the scenery learning about the wildlife of this region. Upon arrival to the site, a delicious home-cooked meal awaits. After lunch, we begin our hike through the site climbing humongous Mayan temples and enjoying the amazing view from the top.

    3

    Today we wake up to the beautiful scenery of our jungle lodge in the tropical rainforest of central Belize. Then, we set off to Nohoch Che’en National Park to begin a quick hike deep into the rainforest to reach Cave’s Branch river. As soon we arrive, we hop on our inner tubes and enjoy a gentle ride downstream through giant natural caves and learn about the many rock formations and Mayan ceremonies held within these caves. Here not only will you enjoy a tubing ride, but also walk through some large cavern systems with flashlights to see Mayan altars and ancient offerings. Next, we strap on our helmets and harnesses and begin our Canopy Zipline adventure. A 10-tower zip line circuit awaits!

    4

    Today we get an extra dose of Mayan ruins, we first begin at Xunantunich – the 2nd largest Mayan settlement in Belize. Next, we are off to the Guatemala Border at San Ignacio to continue our journey into Guatemala. You can thank you guide for the hassle-free experience crossing borders, he will walk you through the process and make sure everything goes nice and smooth. After, we continue our voyage to our next Mayan city – Yaxha. At this site, we will tour around the city and finalize our day at the top of the main temple and view the sunset.

    Wake up to the beautiful view of Lake Peten Itza – and next, we are off to Tikal Mayan ruins to explore deep inside the Guatemalan rainforest the Maya temples that George Lucas used to film the planet Yavin 4 in the movie “Star Wars”. Today you will see the most impressive Maya buildings and a unique architectural style. After our tour of the ruins, we return to Lake Peten and enjoy a tour of the lake, directed back to Flores Island.

    We depart early in the morning and begin our journey towards central Guatemala and make our first stop in Lanquin, a small town only a few miles away from Semuc Champey National Park – often considered the “Havasupai” of Guatemala. Today we will enjoy a fun tour of the Grotto of Lanquin and explore through caves with only the light of our candles. After this incredible experience, we continue our drive and settle in our hotel only footsteps away from Semuc Champey and rest to the sound of nature.

    After waking up to the sound of the jungle at our eco-lodge, today we may hike up to Semuc Champey and enjoy tremendous views of the famous Pozas and take amazing pictures of the mesmerizing turquoise water. After our stop at the viewpoint, we head down in the natural pools of Semuc and enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters. When we finish our day exploring Semuc, it’s time to continue our journey straight to Antigua City.

    No plans are scheduled for today, simply relax and wake up at any time. Enjoy the beautiful amenities of our deluxe hotel, you’ve earned it! When you are ready, head out to town and enjoy walking on the cobblestone streets and the fabulous colonial architecture of Antigua, this city is best known by foot. It’s a small town, so don’t get worried about getting lost. Simply grab a Tuk-tuk taxi and head back to the hotel when you are done.

    9

    Today we explore two villages surrounding Lake Atitlan. Starting with Santiago Atitlan, hop on a Tuk-Tuk and visit some of the most iconic places in town such as the Cathedral, the town market, the original “Laundry Mat” and more. We will even experience a Neo-Mayan ritual originated in this town dedicated to a Mayan deity named “Maximon.”
    After lunch at Santiago, we head back to the boat and visit the next town: San Juan. Here we will hop on another Tuk-Tuk and visit the town’s factories to see and learn about the local trades and the ancestral techniques they use for beekeeping, producing chocolate, medicinal plants, herbs, and spinning/dyeing cotton to create textiles. After, it’s time to enjoy a unique 8 Zipline Circuit across the lake at Panajachel.
    *This tour may change order depending on the season of the year to best accommodate the group.
