    Begin your journey at Tulum, a Mayan city built on a cliff on the seashore. Next, we are off to Coba, a site buried in the thick tropical jungle. Ride bikes through dirt paths to see the most iconic ruins of this site and climb ancient temples to get an amazing view of the jungle. Tonight you will sleep in your first colonial town: Valladolid.

    Today, a short drive takes you to Ek Balam, an ancient city where Mayan priests were ordained thousands of years ago and educated to become rulers. Next, we are off to Chichen Itza — one of the 7 Wonders of World. After a warm day exploring ruins, we cool off at the famous Cenote Ik-Kil: an underground fresh-water spring. Lastly, we arrive in the evening to Merida - the white city - to spend the night.

    It's time to combine a gastronomic experience with a rich historical tour of Colonial Mexico as we stroll through the streets of Merida. We begin at the central market to pick up the ingredients for our traditional cooking class where we will learn the state's most iconic dishes featuring Cochinita Pibil and more. Next, we depart to our local cook's house for a 1-2 hour cooking class and for lunch. After, we head into town to learn about the times of the colony. Enjoy the evening at the center square and dive into the local life.

    Today we depart to Uxmal, a Mayan capital hidden in the southern hills of the Yucatan state. Enjoy learning about the elaborate architectural style born in this city, and it's amazing unique intricacies. After a splendid meal at the site, we visit a local chocolate factory for a fun explanation of how indigenous chocolate is harvested and processed. Next, we are off to Lol-tun: a 2mile long underground cave system once used for Mayan sacrifices and rituals.

    We depart the city of Merida to a small colonial town named Izamal; famous for being the 1st town colonized by the Spanish and for being a world heritage site declared by UNESCO. It is known today as the town of 3 cultures: Ancient(Mayan), Colonial(Spanish) and Modern. Lastly, a unique cenote awaits and a delicious meal, right before our return to Playa del Carmen for the conclusion of our Yucatan Classic trip.
